    Adept won't work...

    Hi!
I've just recently installed the new Kubuntu 6.10 distro on my pc. It all went smooth for a while, but then Adept misbehaved. When I try to run it, it tells me that "another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application or apt-get or aptitude). Please close the other application before using this one", even if the system is just booted up. I cheked the KSysGuard Monitor and I didn't find any of such applications running.
So I tried to launch "kdesu adept_installer" in Konsole...and it returns me
"Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
    Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
kdesu: cannot connect to X server :0.0".

I don't know what to do, can someone help me? please?

    Thank You!!!

P.S.: please, don't tell me I have to reinstall the whole system...it could make me faint... ^^

    Code:
    sudo dpkg --configure --pending
and/or search the forum, for this topic has been discussed "more than a hundred times".

Problem solved. Thanks. I'm really sorry for my lack of patience...you were right: I'd had to check the forum first...

that doesn't solve the problem for me,

Eh? - Could please issue sudo dpkg --audit and post the resulting output, then?
