Re: Windows+kubuntu questions
Yes, you can install a dual-boot, but you should play around with the live CD (also known as Desktop CD) for a week or two and back up all your important data before you doing any installing.
Here's a dual-boot guide for you:

You can install some Windows programs using helper programs like Wine, Cedega, or Crossover Office, but you should seek out native Linux programs whenever possible. iTunes, for example, won't run in Kubuntu.
You don't need anti-virus or anti-spyware. Read more here:

Re: Windows+kubuntu questions
Greetings.
We have been breaking Windows for awhile and use a short form with the people we are "converting".
Take a time out with your thinking beverage and writing stick and list what you ACTUALLY DO within the MS world.
Now take an hour to look about for the Linux apps that DO those things and make sure you are trading up.
We have for instance maintained an XP, DOS 6.2 and a W98 partition to care for legacy apps that have no functional Linux equivalents [YET!]
It is a very wise investment of your time either way you end up going.
We find that the vast bulk of the people we meet up with use just a few applications and every single one of them has a SUPERIOR Linux application so far.
If you do use the LIVE CD remember it will NOT perform as well as the installed distro AND the very things we find critical in day to day use "Just work" from a proper HD install.

Re: Windows+kubuntu questions
As for itunes, you may want to check out Amarok, its part of the default install for kubuntu, and unless you use itunes music store (in which case it won't play the drm'ed tracks from there) it will do everything itunes does and more (it also has its own music store).
