Libdvdcss etc all good but got blue screen in Kaffeine

I am having a prob with DVDs. I managed to get them playing by installing libdvdcss and all the associated files and for a while it worked fine but all of a sudden I have a blue screen with no picture but do have sound. I have tried all the advice I can find in the forums and googled it too (so please don't just say google it lol) but nothing seems to help. I have got a lot of unrecognised commands tho. I am using Kubuntu Edgy on a Sony Vaio laptop.

Any help would be much appreciated

I never trust my dvd playing to one app only.....too many formats.....have you installed w32 codecs? lots of wav. and MS related formats need it. Also think about installing vlc from synaptic, and maybe ogle and mplayer (which comes with a codec pack you can also install)

As far as I know vlc comes with a vast amount of its own codecs already so theres usually little need to add codec plugins........hope one of these work
