    Dual Boot Question

Yes, i have grub dual boot loader installed and running kubuntu edgy and win xp with it.

recently when i turn my laptop on i get two sets of load options for kubuntu.

will this affect my comps performance in any way And could it be cause of the extra ram i recently installed?

    Re: Dual Boot Question

do you mean more options in the grub loader or 2 different grubs

if your grub has more than one option thats normal
    something like this shows up

    grub menu

    generic-kernel
    generic-kernel (recovery mode)

    windows xp

    do more kernels show up

i realize that, but all of that set of options appears twice now.

      two recovery modes
      two kubuntu

      etc

        Re: Dual Boot Question

No reason to panic on of the recent updates brought to you by (the) Adept contained an upgrade of the operating system's kernel, resulting (i.a.) in a new set of entries now showing up in your boot menu ...

The best way to handle this situation: leave it alone - for this is a feature (not a bug), as if, for example, the new kernel were destabilizing your system, you could safely revert to the old one.

Hey, don't panic ... it took me years of "learing by doing" (read: learning from, among other things, my own as well as other guy's mistakes) to reach my current level of ignorance - and, as the saying goes, there is "still lots to learn" ...
