    Wireless Assistant error

Hi, just installing v6.10, all gone fine, but when I try and configure wifi (D-Link) with Wireless Assistant, I get the message 'you may have insufficient permissions .....Did you run it using Sudo'

Don't have a clue what this means :P

    Ta.

    edit:

Have found similar posts, but can't find knetworkmanager to install/how to install it.....

    Hi,

You should try to run the following command from a konsole or from menu > run command :
    kdesu wlassistant

    Hope it helps

Ps : if you're looking for knetworkmanager, it's in main repository, you should try to install it by adept

      Re: Wireless Assistant error

Ta, I'll try again tomorrow (turned off now...), but couldn't find the package to install.

I'm picking things up pretty quickly tho, a bit easier than my last play with Linux about 10 yrs ago.......

Or am I better off using v6.06 instead ? (more stable/sorted?)

          Hi,

As 7.04 is to be published in 2 months and, as far, running really wel, I would stay in edgy and pass in feisty as soon as it published...
But it's always up to you

          Cheers
