dont know how to get samba to work

my parents asked me to make them 2 boxes edgy 6.10
cant configure samba to share folders it seamed easy but the other kubu will not open the shared folder tried in both of them
also i don't know how to configure an hpdeskjet 3535 and an Mtek scanner so they work over Lan

installed samba from apt-get all repos that come whit the distro are enabled

britta@MamaPc:~$ (usb scanner)
bernhard@PapaPC:~$ (usb printer)

(it kind of explains itself lol)
has samba a problem opening capital letters in the address
am sure that i must have missed something or i have no clue how to do it

any help appreciated

Samba is a way of getting Linux to communicate with Windows. You do not mention Windows. Is it present? Is Samba necessary?

ahhh so there is some info
i did not knew that samba was only for linux-win sharing

so what do i use and how do i do it
when it comes to linux networking im a total newby

found out that for printer sharing there is cupsys but dont know how to use it
and the scaner how do i share it

win is present but not needed but if somebody allready have the links to the how-to just post them im sure i will need it some time
