    KOffice 1.6 released

For those using KOffice (and Krita), the 1.6 version is out for both dapper and edgy.

Install instructions for either release can be found at:

Note that koffice-1.6.0 is NOT at the kde-latest repos at the time of this writing. So I had to rewrite my /etc/apt/sources.list to upgrade. Other than that (and a minor glitch with Krita), everything is looking good.

Shouldn't it be linked to 'koffice-latest' rather than 'kde-latest'
      (it's not there either yet)

You're absolutely right. That's what I meant to type. But it wasn't there yesterday.

Any idea for when it will be available for AMD64 users? Right now it seems only the *-data packages are available.

I'm running koffice1:1.6.0-0Ubuntu1-dapper on Kubuntu AMD64 and I've been doing so since last Tuesday.

Strange, I am using "deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/koffice-16 edgy main" and if I try to install koffice aptitude claims that a lot of koffice apps are available only in version 1.1.5.2 - karbon, kchart, kexi, etc.

It looks like AMD64 packages are available only for dapper at the moment (the pool-edgy has only i386 packages...and the data packages which are the same for all architectures, not sure why.

Well, the 1.6 packages should be there if you're using i386, have you refreshed the package lists ('Fetch Updates')?

                  Re: KOffice 1.6 released

On my i386 machines I have the full koffice 1.6. The problem seems to be that, as you found, only the *data* packages are available for AMD64.
