You need to change that to:

BBC code is silly and I find it mildly annoying, but I can understand it as a security feature to limit damage done to a forum by people intending malicious things.

I don't understand how you all are able to get this to work in your signatures.
When I paste the code, it just shows up as markup and no image.
I could not find any option in the cp/signature edit to add this...

You have to convert the html that the *buntu counter provides over to BBC tags.

I posted a couple entries back how to correctly do it, just take that code and replace your own user number.

I'm not sure, but generally BBC code is only used on forums. Most other places you'd want to post your ubuntu counter badge (your own web page, livejournal, etc) will typically allow you to use html, which is what they gave you.

You could try contacting the people who run the project and suggest they include a copy of the forum code too, but I'm not sure if they'd have time to do so.
