Hi!
Project Neon needs little or no introduction for those who have used it in
the past.For those who haven't heard of it, it provides Nightly builds of
KDE. Some time ago, the project was abandoned because of maintenance issues,
and now its back with a bang.Sort of, read on to find out ...

HI rog,
just wondering if this is like the "old" neon project where the latest kde was installed next to the existing DT and chosen at boot. Or does it overwrite the existing DT?

Couldn't read anything pertinent in the documentation.

It installs under /opt so it does not overwrite your stable KDE, and the session can be chosen in kdm.

Although it stores it's user settings in ~/.project-neon-kde (not overwriting your regular kde settings), I'd still recommend creating a separate user to use neon-kde sessions, as it may interfere with settings in ~/.local and ~/.config (for example, akonadi)

Thank you Kubicle. so it is the same the "old" neon. I remember adding a new user for neon there as well.

I'll give it a whirl
