Update: 4.3.1 has been released, and it seems lot safer to upgrade to it than it initially was to upgrade to 4.3.0. See here: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3106162.0

Warning.
These packages are only intended for advanced users, all ppa packages are unsupported. General users should wait to use KDE 4.3 in the next Kubuntu release, Karmic, or 9.10, in October. Several people had problems of all types with these packages (please browse the forum for 4.3 issues for a sample).

- There seem to be some problems with the packaging, and after the upgrade you may not be able to login (plasma was broken after the upgrade for some of us). I would recommend pre-upgrade and post-upgrade steps (see below).
- Before the upgrade: make sure that kubuntu-desktop is installed
- After the upgrade (before loging out or restarting the computer): run in konsole the following: sudo apt-get install -reinstall kde-core
- If you cannot logout: go to System Settings -> Notifications and revert to Default settings. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201569
