Guess there are no known issues. Jaunty gets better all the time.

        Known issues

There are a small number of known bugs that users may run into with Ubuntu 9.04 RC which will be fixed before the final release. We have documented them here for your convenience along with any known workarounds.

For a full list of errata for Ubuntu 9.04, please see the Ubuntu 9.04 release notes.
        • When using the ext4 filesystem, accessing large files can trigger a kernel panic and filesystem corruption. The fix for this problem will be included in the final 9.04 release. Users installing from the Ubuntu 9.04 Release Candidate may wish to avoid this problem by using the default ext3 filesystem and converting it to ext4 after release.
        • The OEM setup mode is not usable in the Kubuntu release candidate. This will be corrected for the final release.
        • The mythtv frontend in mythbuntu fails to render fonts correctly when using video drivers other than the Intel or closed-source nVidia drivers. This issue is expected to be resolved for the final 9.04 release.

        > The Ubuntu 9.04 release notes
        • Boot failures on systems with Intel D945 motherboards
        • Upgrades from beta may use LABEL= in /etc/fstab
        • Upgrades from alphas may need re-encryption of encrypted home directories
        • Upgrades from Ubuntu 8.10 may have lilo installed
        • Setting wireless regulatory domain via module option no longer supported
        • Network management applet must be re-added on Kubuntu upgrade
        • Ctrl-Alt-Backspace disabled by default in Xorg
        • Change in notifications of available updates
        • Performance regressions on Intel graphics cards
        • Display freezes with Intel graphics cards
        • Lock-ups when deleting files from ext4 filesystems
        • Switching to ext4 requires manually updating grub
        • Occasional hangs possible on ARM architecture

        > JauntyJackalope/RC/Kubuntu
        Known Issues
        • Kmail sieve functionality is buggy and causes CPU hang. You shouldn't use it at the moment.
and i think that this is also a "Known Issue"
The new plasma-widget-network-manager replaces the old KNetworkManager applet.

NOTE : Upgraders may have to add the Network Management plasma widget to their taskbar or desktop manually

Plasma is one of the key technologies of KDE 4 (also known as the "Pillars of KDE"), and one of the most visible to users. As Plasma treats the user interface differently than a traditional desktop, there may be confusion as to what Plasma is, what it does, and how to perform common tasks.

This document attempts to address these problems by providing answers to the most common questions...

It's the same here, as of last night. I'd say they've frozen the version.

BTW, except for a GoogleEarth issue with my graphics, for some strange reason, my Kubuntu 9.04 system works flawlessly -- I have not ever seen a serious crash, only an occasional kioslave or krunner problem.

We are one week out from the 9.04 release candidate and two weeks from the
final release, so the archive is now frozen and will not thaw again before
                    release.

During the freeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member of the
release team, so if you have fixes that are important to get in and will
need discussion, please do get in touch as soon as possible. Uploads to
main should at this point focus on release-critical bugs only...

KDE 4.2.3 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 9.04.

To install it add this line to your software sources.

                      deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Then refresh and do a full upgrade.

KDE 4.2.4 is the last release planned for the KDE 4.2 series, which will be followed up by KDE 4.3 at the end of July, 6 months after KDE 4.2 was released. In the case that a security issue or another grave bug arises, there might be a KDE 4.2.5, of course...

                            Why isn't KDE 4.2.3/4.2.4 in the jaunty-updates
a.k.a Why is the (KDE 4.2.3) KDE 4.2.4 in the PPA repositories

Antonio Augusto asked > Why is KDE 4.2.4 still in PPA ?

Scott Kitterman told > Why is KDE 4.2.4 still in PPA ?
Normally it would have gone to jaunty-proposed/updates, but due to some
disconnect between our Qt and KDE versions in Jaunty we have at least one
regression that upstream will not support fixing. We promise -updates will
be regression free, so 4.2.4 is not suitable for that repository.

Since we intend to put 4.3.0 in jaunty-backports shortly, no one on the
development team was excited about doing the work to get 4.2.4 into
backports since it was already in the PPA.

... and more (of the KDE 4.3 Jaunty) > Why is KDE 4.2.4 still in PPA ?
Assuming, of course, testing show it to be reasonably stable/functional. Backports is not promised to be regression free, but it should be generally usable, install cleanly, etc.
