No, i don't think you have to upgrade. If you set Kubuntu 7.04 repositories correctly you should get updates automatically. As for the changes - there are no major changes from Beta to Final version, just many bug fixes. You don't have to reinstall anything.
Hope that helps...In a world without windows and fences who needs Gates?

Re: Kubuntu Feisty Fawn - 7.04 is OUT!
Does anyone know if the support for wireless USB adapters has been increased?
I had 6.06 installed and although with difficulty(ndiswrapper etc) i got my usb wifi connected
I had a dual boot system with XP on the main disk and kubuntu on the slave all worked well until my slave HD packed up and i was unable to install 6.06 on a partition on the master HD.
I then tried 6.10 when it became available and i was unable to connect to the net at all using the method i used on 6.06
I have read that 7.04 uses KnetworkManager and has a zeroconf option. Will i be able to install my WG111T usb stick from the box this time? if not is there anywhere i could find an install package that could help me like i had with 6.06

Re: Kubuntu Feisty Fawn - 7.04 is OUT!
I thought 7.04 was to be a ltr [long term release] with 6.1 having the 18 month cycle but I guess it's not?
And has anyone tried upgrading wit out reinstalling? I like what i got and don't want to have to remember what all extra I installed from the repos AND I don't want to have to re-engineer my desktop. I'd stay with 6.1 if my usb card reader would work [someone says that's fixed in Feisty]
Thanks

Re: Kubuntu Feisty Fawn - 7.04 is OUT!
I've done several upgrades of Edgy to Feisty. I didn't have any major problems. The few problems I did have was helped by the forum here.
No Feisty isn't to be a LTS. From my understanding, another LTS isn't for a couple of more of these 6 month releases.

Hello, I tried yesterday, but failed.
After hours of download, the upgrade stopped at being unable to configure x11-common.
Manually calling "sudo dpkg --configure -a" yields to the very same message about inconsistent package.
My system was 6.10, which I always held up to date.

Re: Kubuntu Feisty Fawn - 7.04 is OUT!
Got your message kornel. Sorry about the confusion in terminology. What you relayed to me will help. These links are to several posts with dibl's comments. I personally did not have problems with my nVidia Graphics Card, but dibl did initially and did, I think, extensive work on solving his problems. I hope any one of these help. If not, post in the Feisty section under hardware about nVidia card problems. We can help further.
