barfly suggested using Yannubuntu's boot-repair. Qqmike had suggested it as well.
I tried to find out more about Yannubuntu and see if there are integrity checks like checksums when you download the software.
I found no integrity checks.
I did find a note at https://bugs.launchpad.net/boot-repair/+bug/2067820
Bug #2067820: Boot-Repair doesn't build on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS - Missing build dependencies: python-all
My version of kubuntu is built on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. so I expect risk that I am likely affected by the bug.
How important is it?
