    Two EFI partitions?

Due to a HDD clone, my system now has two EFI partitions. SDB has win8 with it's own EFI and bootloader. SDC contains Kubuntu, with an EFI partition also. I can switch the boot device directly from firmware with f8 which is not an issue.

Is there any reason to remove one of the EFI partitions? Will gub ever try to insert itself on the SDB's efi?

Why not keep it as a backup? It's not like you need the 128mb or whatever size it must be. That way if one drive fails, the other still boots.

Nothing in UEFI says that you must limit a machine to a single EFI system partition. I suspect there might be some tools that operate under the assumption that the only partition on the machine is whichever one you booted from, so you'll probably just need to be diligent when you're mucking around with them.
