Free shopping cart

Several years ago I had a website over which I sold books that I have written. I used a free shopping cart from a company called Mercantec (www.mercantec.com). I liked its shopping cart. I want to create a new website. I was hoping to reuse the Mercantec shopping cart, but Mercantec seems no longer to exist, and I have been unable to determine what became of it. If anyone knows, please tell me.

I am open for suggestions for a free shopping cart to use.

Hi,

There used to be "X-cart" but now there is "Litecart".
It should be in the repos, it is an Ubuntu app.

Here is a complete write up on it's install using .apt it does require installing a database, etc.
