OK..I am going to preempt this post... if you are ready to post clonezilla, you better have a link to a tutorial/HOWTO on this... why? I despise clonezill, its the most over hype POS ever! Why? I've attempted to use it more times than I can count and it NEVER EVER NEVER WORKS. Just total fails, period. So back to our regularly scheduled post.....
So I've come to a situation where I need to CLONE a drive of a system, basically its SATA HDD to SATA SSD 2.5 or maybe even 3.5, what ever I get a deal on.. its not relevant.
I don't normally do this, I;d normally just take what data I need off atfter installing, with the most currnet verion ESR, but in this case thats not an option...longer story and not of importance... it would be simpllier to just clone the drive BUT
I've moved to FULL DISK ENCRYPTION via LUKS/LLVM when install setups...
The thing that sticks in my mind is the encryption setup and tied to the disk etc..
So dd?? clonezilla (see above peface!!!! ! ! !)
Yeah, this was not something I ever considered.. like I said, normally, new disk, new install. Sometimes that means the same ESR goes on if its in the 2 year cycle... I don't use the "betas" between ESR's.
So whats the program to do this?
Thanks!
