I'm running Kubuntu (kde plasma) and have counter strike1.6, cs condition zero and cs source installed via steam. everything was running fine but now none of them have sound. I have no issues with sound working for everything else. even playing trailer previews from within steam the sound works. its just the actual game play thats not working as of today.
under settings everything is normal. or on. or turned up. this is like a driver issue or communication issue. steam did a tiny update (very quick) when I went to open counterstrike to play it. thats when the sound seems to have disappeared. I've even tried sudo apt autoremove steam and apt autoremove --purge steam. then I reinstalled it but still no sound in counter strike. I removed all games before removing steam.
any advice?
