Is there one ? since i have kubuntu lts 12.04 installed i still have kde 4. I also have some 173 splash screens on disk. I use KsplasherX to make them . I noticed that a splash some one ported from p5 to kde 4 used qml . Is there a program to make these or does plasma 5 allow you make your own using your own wall papers and icons ?

if their is ........I do not know of it ,,,,,and the hole deal looks a bit complicated for me so I wont be trying to make a slash theme as yet .
However I have achieved a seamless background from login to desktop with the system settings tools and a quick dirty hack .
just replace the /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/splash/images/background.png with the wallpaper you want ,,,,, the .png will be owned by root but should be set group can read and others can read .
dont know if you half to but I did run kbuildsycoca5 next.
log out and in,,,,,,,,presto
I now have your https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...67780-that-too running in the login screen the splash screen and the desktop
the one with the Kubuntu txt for login and splash and the one without for the desktop ,,,,,,,,,,,sweet
in a few I will shoot a vid for youtube of it and post @hear

VinnyWright,
I just loaded Kubuntu 15.10 beta 1 into a virtual machine with virtual box. This method you talk about here will NOT currently work with 15.10. We must rethink this since in 15.10 there is a kde.svgz in /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/splash/images folder instead of a jpg or png files. I'm sure there is a way with Inkscape to edit the image but still playing with it at the time of the writing. Let me know if you come up with something as I to would like to go from login to desktop seamlessly like you discuss.

O ya it's in the sddm ,,,,,/usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/components/artwork/background.png
awesome ,,, I was just setting up my new 15.10 install and had forgot about this one ,,,,,,,it's working well @hear .
but unless you make your own theme like @https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?67599-Plasma-5-background-images&p=370231&viewfull=1#post370231 the changed .png's will be over wrote on a update ,,,,possibly .Last edited by vinnywright; Aug 28, 2015, 09:14 PM.i7 4core HT 8MB L3 2.9GHz
