    [SOLVED] Spell checker when posting?

I just can't see it ... When posting either by Quick Reply or by going Advanced, as I type my post, I can't get the "red-underlining spell checker" working to check my spelling as I type. But it worked in the past. Under profile settings, I'm (still) using a Basic Editor for posting (WYSIWYG didn't work well for me). What the heck am I doing wrong or not doing! Even now, I type incorrectly 'confguration,' but no red underline under that mispelled word. I'm missing something. (I right-clicked in this box and DO notice that "Check Spelling" is checked, if that's relevant. I've also turned off NoScript in Firefox for KFN.)

Spell checking isn't a function of vBulletin. Here, using Chromium, I have spell checking enabled.

Customize and control Chromium > Settings and in Search settings type Languages and click on Languages and spell-checker settings... and check Enable spell checking.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

it (firefox) dose this to me as well sporadicly, for me unchecking (turning off) the spell checking then rechecking it and or selecting a different language (it will get set to "English Canada" instead of "English United States" all by it's self)as well fixes it.
      why it happens ,,,, IDK

and as any one who has ever read one of my replys or post will attest ,,,,,,I need the spell checker

        OK, SOLVED.

        > I checked my browser settings in Firefox (under Advanced tab) and "Check my spelling as I type" is checked. So at least I'm covered there (and learned that this is a function of the browser, not KFN). Thanks.

        > Vinny, unchecking and checking "Check Spelling" (in rt-click menu) didn't work. But, changing languages did work (in rt-click menu). Changed to English Canada, it worked; then changed back to English US, and it still works. Thanks.

        Done deal.

in FF - Right click in a text input field, and you can check/uncheck spell checking in the menu and choose proffered language. quicker way.

There's actually 3 menus depending on a)text box, b)page w/o selection and c)page with selection - I'm a slave to select text and "search <selected text> in selected quick search box engine". And ofc open in new tab.

Yes, that's what I did (see Post #4).
