    Does anyone here use Kolab?

Kolab's current stable version is 2.4, and the project is now working on 3.0. However, the version in Ubuntu's repositories is old, at 2.2. Kolab's mirrors show no Ubuntu packages for 2.4; there are few Debian packages, but they seem incomplete. I'm wondering if anyone's managed to get 2.4 running on a *buntu server?

The Kolab folks and the OwnCloud folks have been cozying up...

I just might have to convert my server from Ubuntu to CentOS, because these two suites -- Kolab and OwnCloud -- look very, very cool.

Any particular reasons you want kolab?

No technical reason, really. I'm more interested in it because some of the Kolab folks have ties to the KDE community. And it does seem to be the most feature-complete and standards-compliant groupware-ish thing out there. All the others miss one or two things that I use: CardDAV, server-side sieve, a couple others I'm not remembering now. I've read through the docs for eGroupware, Zarafa, Horde, Citadel. The only suite that feels very complete besides Kolab is Zimbra. But VMware hasn't upgraded the community edition to run on Ubuntu 12.04 yet.
