    Flashplugin64 no longer available

I was installing (Or trying to install) the flashplugin64-installer from sevenmachines ppa and got a 404 error not found.

After figuring out where the installer was downloading the file from (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l..._090611.tar.gz), I tried to download it my self.

However, the url download.macromedia.com does not exist anymore. Further, I cannot find where to download the plugin anywhere on the flash site.

Anyone know where we can get this file?

    Thanks!

I find this thread interesting. I've been, and still am, using the sevenmachines ppa, and I update the package cache manually everyday, and have never seen/gotten the 404 error. As far as I know, the ppa is still active.

The package installs fine, but when it tries to go out and install the flash player for the first time (During the post install part), you get a 404 error. If you download the source for the package and open the post install file and locate the url inside the package, then try to browse to it, you will see what I am referring to.

The URL is no longer available.

Once the package is installed, it will update fine as it does on my wifes laptop, but then again, during the update, its not trying to install the flashplayer again, simply looking for an updated package.

            Re: [SOLVED]Flashplugin64 no longer available

I suppose I should open a bug report for this...

Will look into that in a bit. Once I was introduced to the link in the beginning of this thread, it pointed me to the partner ppa and installed the 64 bit version automatically, so maybe sevenmachines is deprecated?

            Thanks!

I would contact the ppa maintainer first.

                I just ran
                Code:
                sudo apt-add-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash
                and ran
                Code:
                sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
and it installed and ran the flashplugin-installer and installed the latest flash without problems.

I took off the SOLVED on this as the original issue is not solved... The work around is in the second comment.

                      Thanks!
