Anyone with any real information care to comment..........the linkys to really long op-eds/blogs and long videos on YouTube.
Cut to the chase seems to be that "there is connivance" between some/many "reviewers/bloggers/writers", etc and "game companies", which include allgations of "sleeping with the boss", as it were...
Apparently SOME...of the "writers" are now not "just talking about the game" ......, [b], it is alleged that they are off into "social constructs" and that the women are portrayed in sexist ways.
And that the numbers of few women game code writers are "too low"...
There is a lot of discussion of a game that is about "dealing with depression"......I pass on how that could be "a game"... and that the female writer was of the above mentioned...
But also that there was a indigogo situation that tried to publish her game but then things went sidewise....don't know....
There is also a discussion of how "writers" are trying to "move games" ways from "just being a game" into the realm of where the game is now "art".
I have no clue..............seems to be a lot of "arguing back and forth," but also that:
a) there are names of people being named,
b) that people are having personal information "outed" ,
c) that physical threats and death threats "may" have been made..
d) that very reputable MAGAZINES/digital... are involved.........
"Detractors" of "Gamergate" say that the people promoting it are old line gamers that want to keep their misogynist games pure.
Me...........I usually just play Geweled! lol

Here is the original article that I.......personally ....first read about it........he is advocating that there was collusion between some companies and some writers/coders.
It also has links to a video produced by the writer which are "relatively calm" but he does get wound up toward the end.
Here is a "rage" on YouTube that is naming names etc. entitled "the Downfall of Gaming Journalism" and was, apparently, one of the videos that "broke" the news..

After I had spent about 40 minutes on this I eschewed trying to find proponents of "the other side".
If someone wants to post some such please do so.
Again........... We all know that there are "magazines" that have been "mouthpieces" for products for the company producing the product, .....and it would seem to thw old woodsmoker that it was to be expected that some such would be going on with games...
But, supposedly......the INDEPENDENT "zines" were supposed to be "neutral"......don't know.
Again, this may be a tempest in a teapot or it may be that somebody here has "some good skinny" as they usta say in the ol Navee!! and mebbe they could post their opinions!
