I just found this one: Battle for Wesnoth
It looks really interesting. I think I will give it a go in a bit.

I can't believe I'm saying that, but I find its lack of graphics disturbing. They could be at least as good as in Civ3, which shouldn't be so hard. Otherwise, it's a good game.

The games I currently play are KMines (yes, it is as good as the Windows Minesweeper), for the really bored times, Settlers of Catan clone Pioneers and GCCG for Magic: The Gathering.

I play a lot of Linux games, but mostly I play:

Nexuiz
KNetWalk (it's addictive and fun if you have to wait a few minutes for something)
Burgerspace (it's so funny XD)
Super Maryo Chronicles

Yeah, I started playing that a few months back. It's addictive too. You really have to think forward and that isn't easy!

I like KNetWalk also. It's simple and fun.

I have been playing Mahjongg for years. I use the Gnome version, much easier for me to see the tiles. My best time on the "Difficult" layout is 1 minute 50 seconds. Not bad for an old man.

some of my favs are,

knetwalk, addictive and fun
ri-li, wooden train game + with aspects of the game snake, this game is digital crack.
ktuberlang, all the younger kids in my family love this game.
Blobby, cheese volley ball game w/ network play.
