VegaStrike Music or the lack thereof

Hiya.
Could someone PLEASE tell me how to get the music in VegaStrike working? I downloaded the package, I even copied vegastrike.conf from /usr/share/wherever it was to $HOME/.vegastrike.4.x/, chowned it and made it executable. After that I ran vssetup, set things up like I wanted and....nothing. I'm at wits' end here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I think the music for Linux is officially "broken" in the current version of VS. It's a great game, though. It is going to make me fail my degree.
