How does one share a widget? How does this work?

I always take note of the "Share this Widget" option when I'm playing with my desktop. Has anyone actually used this and if so, how does it work? Meaning - How to I access the information from a widget on another computer on my desktop?

See maybe Sharing Plasmoids over Network in KDE 4.4

Does anyone here actively use "Share this widget on the network"?

I'd rather be locked out than locked in.
