once again installed qt-creator 1.3 from the repos and so far no issues.... i am not sure how that managed to fix it..

That's the Lucid Lynx repo, right? All I see in the Karmic repo is 1.2.1-3ubuntu1.

thats in the PPA for qt-creator, (at least i think i have a ppa for it...) karmic for sure, i will have to double check when i get home it very well could be the 1.2.1-3-ubuntu1 package.

the ppa is this one https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtcreator
and it must be the 1.2.1-3 package. since that is the only one for karmic (and i didn't manually install the lucid version besides synaptic did all the work...)

just checked the about Qt creator box here at work and i've got

QT-creator 1.3
Based on QT 4.6 (32-bit)
Built on Dec 30th 2009 @19:22:38

this is karmic32 , and the only difference between here and home is @ home its karmic64 , they both have the same upgrade path and settings (i.e same repos set, and update settings) again i will varifiy that when i get home. to be the same.
