I just got a 500GB SSD to enhance HDD performance and am interested in migrating the system over to it.
Since I use BTRFS and already have backup (On my external drive) snapshots, I would assume that this would be easier than just starting from scratch.
I have snapshots of @ and @home. How should I migrate my system over to the new SSD? I don't really know how restoring works in BTRFS as I have never done a restore. I would assume that it is similar, but the snapshots are read-only and I don't know how this affects the process.
Would it just be as easy as formatting the SSD as BTRFS and then restoring the @ subvolume to it since this contains all the system files? This is somewhat more complicated because my traditional HDD is 1TB, but the SSD is 500GB, so I can't just restore @home in its entirety.
Thanks for the suggestions
