Part 2 of the series begun in the first post. Actual Btrfs stuff starts at 16 minutes. RAID5 &6 have been patched, but the caution light is still on. The RAID5 write hole probably isn't something Btrfs (or ZFS) can fix because overcoming that requires battery powered raid on disk controllers. In a sense, a laptop with a good battery has an "UPS" and battery powered disk controllers, so I suspect that the Btrfs devs will work something out in regard to the write hole.
