    do-release-upgrade uses btrfs snapshot?

I've never, NEVER done a do-release-upgrade before. This morning I launched 17.04 in a VM and ran the upgrade script. I was very surprised to see it perform a snapshot in the tmp folder before updating packages. I wasn't able to determine what exactly was in the snapshot but it appeared to be parts of the upgrade.

There's at least two packages that pull in hooks that do this. Two of them have confusingly similar names. I found at least one hard to get rid of, but maybe I was confused. One put the snapshots at the top level; until I learned to mount that somewhere I couldn't find them.
