    Lightworks and Guy,Robot

Guy,Robot has several videos describing his move from Apple to Gentoo Linux. During the video he mentions and recommends the LightWorks video editor over open sourced editors. I downloaded the deb file and installed it. It required 5 other packages but installed and ran fine. It is free for non-professional use but the free version has limits on the pro capabilities. For example, you can export only at 720p. But, that is the normal resolution of most TV sets and most broadcast TV. I plan to play with it to see what it can do, but probably won't keep it around.

LightWorks requires an accelerated GPU environment. On my Nvidia GT 650M desktop shaders worked at 9,700 fps.

Guy,Robot is 33 years old and working on his MS in CS, which puts him about 10 years behind the normal schedule. But, as you'll notice, he is NOT behind in his computer skills at the CLI, or his knowledge of Linux, as this video demonstrates.

By most measures and a random group of a significant number of people, say the population of the US, about half are below normal and half are above normal. Problems arise when those that do the measuring shift the goal posts, i.e., lower the mean.
