    amarok equalizer ?

i realised that amarok sound output is bit low..
where is the equaliser of amarok?
    i found this link: https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-membe...4/+archive/ppa
but which amongst them do i need to install?

i find amarok really good, it has good interface: it gives me option to display by album or as file explorer
has good properties editor. if only it had equaliser by default.. it would have been gr8

    thanks in advance...

    Earlier (Kubuntu 9.10/KDE 4.3/Amarok 2.2) > Topic: Amarok 2.2 and the Equalizer

The Kubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) has > [ubuntu/lucid] phonon-backends 4:4.3.1-5ubuntu1 (Accepted) (or later):
    ...
Backport Xine equalizer support from Phonon trunk (patch

    ...

      Re: amarok eualiser ?

i started doing steps suggested in http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3107126.0
      executed that svn command..
      but i lost after that..
nserting them to the Ubuntu phonon sources > http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/phonon. Editing a bit:
      Quote
      phonon (4:4.3.1~svn1037991~karmic~ppa1) karmic; urgency=low

      * svn1037991 release
      - removing patches: r950739_fullscreen_hidecursor
      and 924144_encoding_local_files_fix
      + edit patch: disable_phonon_build

Building packages...Downgrading (only the phonon-backend-xine is needed at here):
      Quote
Commit Log for Tue Oct 20 17:08:51 2009

      Downgraded the following packages:
      phonon-backend-xine (4:4.3.1-4ubuntu1) to
      4:4.3.1~svn1037991~karmic~ppa1

Testing - seems to enable the equalizer.
this is sounding greek to me...what exactly do i have to do..
isn't there any simple plugin for amd64 amarok 2.2?

        Re: amarok eualiser ?

You need to install the updated phonon-backend-xine.

If you scroll down there is an example.

An example package can be found > PPA for Rog131 >> Package name contains: phonon Published in Karmic

        ...

The PPA package version number is lower than the official package because:
        - then you can't install it by accident.
        - some day the ubuntu will release an update. Time will show if it is 4.3.2, 4.4 or something else.

        ...

        Example:

Downloading the phonon-backend-xine package and installing (downgrading) it:
        ...

Or you could search a PPA repository with a backported (from the Lucid) phonon-backend-xine.

@rog: i still could not get exactly how to proceed after installing phonon.
anyways.. songbird equaliser could pull the day off for me..

@vinny: okey.. kde 4.4 gave you the equaliser... but is the sound coming from speakers..
i saw many posts with the problem of sound output in kde 4.4
i decided to holdback update untill things become stable.. a bit.

@vinny: after going through few posts.. i got to know that.. the sound problem comes after installing new linux kernel. can you please tell me how to update to kde 4.4 without upgrading kernel.. is it possible?
