Install instructions
1. Download the archive and extract the folder to /usr/share/plymouth/themes/
2. Set the theme
sudo update-alternatives --install /lib/plymouth/themes/default.plymouth default.plymouth /lib/plymouth/themes/kubuntu-gold/kubuntu-gold.plymouth 150
sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth
3. Update initramfs and grub
sudo update-initramfs -u && sudo update-grub
