    minimalistic theme

    have you seen the omgubuntu desktop compition results?
    i am in love with this particular desktop http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/03/f...buntu-desktop/

    i am trying to replicate this desktop on my spare linux mint.
    ubuntu-colored wallpaper are awesome. the orta window decoration theme is simply superb.. exactly what i wanted.
    but the only problem is that i am not able to install the icon theme from gnome look.
    here is the link http://gnome-look.org/content/show.p...content=134567

    this has always been a problem for me.. to install themes, icons from kde/gnome-look

    i used "sudo chmod +x mono"
    then "./mono"
    i am getting error as:
    Code:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
     File "./mono", line 84, in <module>
      mk()
     File "./mono", line 74, in mk
      indext = open('%s/.icons/%s/index.theme'%(home,name_of_new_icon_theme),'r' )
    IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/kapil/.icons/monoNew2/index.theme'
    i know i am missing something.. but donno what..

    Re: minimalistic theme

    (1)Do you actually have a file called "/home/kapil/.icons/monoNew2/index.theme"?
    You may have unpacked the download in the wrong directory.

    (2)Shouldn't you be asking the Gnome experts about this?

      Re: minimalistic theme

      Would likely be helpful if the OP ran the commands 'correctly'.
      chmod +x mono
      /.mono
      and not
      chmod +x mono
      ./mono

        @askrieger:
        1. no that file is not there. i have unpacked tar.gz file into /home/user/.icons folder but that extracted folder contains only two files "mono" which is a executable text file and readme. i need to run that mono file. but it is not running completely.
        2. yes.. i have asked same question on linuxmint forum.. but no one knew what to do.and i just wanted wanted to install this theme.. so i posted here.. isn't the icon installation same for ubuntu and kubuntu similar? and that is the reason i posted it in artwork rather other thread.

        @Snowhog: yes.. it mentioned /.mono, but it returns
        Code:
        bash: /.mono: No such file or directory
        i have tried putting mono file at location "/" and also in "/home/user/.icon" and run command /.
        doesn't help.

        any suggestions?
