Thanks! Unfortunately I now know how to do this "glass" effect in GIMP and I seem to be going a little wild with it at the moment.
Actually have been looking for a decent start button for a long time and never really found one that fit with Kubuntu quite right. At least on my DT this one looks perfect.

It's looking great with my dark theme (BlackGlass) and my dark wallpaper's (IE:you'r moon) add lavafox blue and I dont half to suffer blinding screen glare eneymore..........LOL

Glad it works for others! That is what I like about Kubuntu. The ability to make an OS you is really the greatest thing instead of the "sheep" life style some others live. IMHO anyway.
