CD / DVD Labels for Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

Decided to release these now. Worked hard on these this time around.
Learned a great deal of the versatility of GIMP. Learned a lot of
great art methodologies making these labels.

Hope these do Kubuntu proud and fit what you need. Enjoy!!

Note: I would like to give thanks to StarWolf who gave me the Karmic Koala logo.

Very nice. But, isn't Karmic packaged with KDE 4.3?

"KDE 4.3 will be part of Kubuntu Karmic 9.10 to be officially released this October."

32-bit - LiveCD still shows 4.2 for KDE.

Go to it again and reload the page. It may have been cached. At least it was on this end. Let me know.

Cached. Forced a reload (Shift+Reload) and yes, it shows 4.3. Nice job.

Thanks! I've done this so much and I also have to do similar things at work that it is relatively easy. The hard part is coming up with an idea for the initial layout. This time around I had to learn more about GIMP and WINGS3d.

                    Cheers!

These are intended for CD/DVD discs, and either one would print to adhesive media or directly to the disc (lightscribe et al). Shouldn't the images contain a center area consistent with the size of the non-printable central area of a CD/DVD that is void of any image?

Suggestion: Why not 'brand' these labels? Use your avatar (without the dolphins) as the base image? I think that would look pretty cool.

I didn't think of LightScibe. I actually design these around Avery Media that has the center label that could be removed, so I never really thought of that. It will actually print on LightScribe? I thought of the branding, but didn't know which direction to go for that. I might play around with that.

Avery. Okay. Didn't consider that. But, yes, those who have lightscribe (or similar) CD/DVD drives would benefit from an image that doesn't have an image over the non-printing area of the disc.

Really? I didn't know LightScribe could take an image as such. That's pretty cool. As you can tell I don't have LightScribe. Hmmmm. Something to think about.
