[SOLVED] Odd forum behavior - highlighting and replacing text not working,

Using the WYSIWYG editor, when I double-click on a word of text in yet a un-posted reply, typing over it does not work.

To explain: I believe previous to the forum upgrade, one could, when typing, highlight misspelled or unwanted text, then just begin typing the new text. This would delete the highlighted text and replace it with what you typed anew. However, lately I've noticed that if you highlight text, you can hit the delete key or backspace and remove it, but other keys on the keyboard are effectively dead.

I believe this is a behavior change and commonly, this works elsewhere (other forums, etc.), but I may be mistaken. I just wondered if anyone else has noticed this.

Okay, I'm going to deliberately missspell some words here and try to do what you are saying.

It works correctly for me. I click on the misspelled word, it gets highlighted, and I just type a replacement. Works fine.

What I'm doing is typing, then double-clicking on a word, then attempting to type.

Will the word get highlighted with a single-click?

No, when typing a post, a single left-click moves the cursor, a single right-click opens a dialog menu. This has nothing to do with spelling correction.

            Which browser are you using?

              Example:

              Hit reply to this post.
Type "The quick red fox jumped over the lazy dog's back".
              Then, double left-click on "jumped".
Observed "jumped" is now highlighted (colored background, white letters).
              Attempt to type "climbed".
              Nothing happens.

The above process works on Google+, Konverstation, Libre Office, email, etc. Just about everywhere I can think of but here.

I think I would have noticed this before.

Vivaldi. This works everywhere but on KFN. Let me try Palemoon.

bla bla ball ,,,,,,,,,,,,works as you think it should hear the "bla bla ball" was bla bla bla I double clicked the last bla (it was underlined in red) and it "highlighted" typed ball and as soon as I hit "b" it deleted the bla and took the retype .

From Palemoon, different behavior. Obviously a browser issue. Thanks for helping.
