Is it possible to set a font of my choice when composing a post?

When I start composing or replying, the font in use is a proportional (sans serif) font. I'd be much happier with a fixed font like Verdana. Can I set such a choice somewhere? Or do I need to choose Verdana each time from the Font dropdown?

I don't know how to do it via Stylus although I've tweaked the rest mostly to my liking:

Setting a user font isn’t doable as far as I can tell.

Okay, thanks! I'll keep looking for a CSS route.

It would be annoying if people were allowed to inflict their individual taste of fonts on others.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I want to have a fixed font on my screen. I have managed to do so for most aspects of the GUI using CSS via the Stylus extension but doing so for the area in which one composes posts or replies doesn't seem easy. Don't worry, I don't want to inflict anything on you.
