    Recent smiley 'upgrade'

Although they are ok, why couldn't they just be added to the old ones? I miss some of the old ones.

    I agree.

All the 'old' ones are still there; they were not removed. The 'new' ones are being added. Click on the More button.

It's weird, the box that appears with a selection of smileys in it isn't even close to looking full, only 2 rows (looks like there should definitely be room for a 3rd and possibly even a 4th row), and the 2nd row isn't even a full row. That's why I never thought to click on the 'more' button. Is there any way to get more (or ideally all) of them appearing in the initial pop-up box?

Or, failing that, some kind of visual indication that the smileys in that box aren't all the smileys that there are would be good; the mere existence of the 'more' button alone didn't suggest to me that there were indeed more to be seen.

Bear with me, but really!? What would a More button be there for if not to show more smiley's? Given that you were thinking 'where did they go?' and there was a button that by its very name indicates there are more, why wouldn't you [read: anyone] click on it?

I mean absolutely no offense by my comment above, but to me, clicking on a More button would be an obvious thing to do.

I've reordered the 'new' smiley's so the originals in the first order will be the first ones seen (again). You might have to clear your browser cache.

Guys, guys, they're only smileys but yeah, make the initial popup box a little larger and include the most popular/common/favourites?

If I hadn't encountered numerous examples of buttons that do nothing (or nothing useful), but are present simply because the underlying framework puts them there by default, then I might not have assumed (due to the non-fullness of the initial box) that it was yet another case of that.

Box is full, and there's a 'more' button = I assume the 'more' button shows more smileys.
Box isn't full, and there's a 'more' button' = I assume the 'more' button is redundant, but is being displayed anyway.

The number of smiley's is fixed at two rows of eight. People just have to click on the More button. So, let's all just agree to

Yes, smileys are of the utmost importance and urgency, lol. Can you imagine a world without smileys? Not really knowing what the author intended because there wasn't some kind of emotion graphic to aid in the reader's full understanding?! :::grin:

Seeing how some folks stayed with KDE3, even to this day (Change is BAAAAD!!), you should not be surprised at the extreme vitriol and gnashing of teeth :eek: over this highly, extremely, very very very , much more important issue, Snowhog.:wink::razz::lol:.
