Using Gravitars on this site.

i am wondering if the forums here support globally recognized avitars (gravitars)? see: https://en.gravatar.com/

my speculation is you do not and this is a feature i would like to see here.

do you use a URL with these gravitars ,,,if yes then you could prob use it hear,

and whats the diff between a gravitar and an avitar ?

"gravitar" is a contraction of Globally Recognized Avatar.

sites that support gravitars rely on a users registered email address which resolves to an avitar stored on the gravitar web site.

i have asked gravitar tech support about using the url option to display my gravitar (the way we have here). but no reply yet.

vbulletin currently does not support gravatars, there is a third party plugin for older versions but none for vb4. However, you can try simply using the gravatar url for your image in your avatar settings.

Gravatar tracks people across the Internet and thus can be viewed by some as a form of privacy invasion. I would not want to require Gravatar usage by all our members.

I agree with you there. I only want info out there I choose to have out there. I'm using as much as I can find to block tracking.
