What Happened to the sites icon?

The Icon used to be a Kubuntu Logo, there is now a "Check Mark" looking icon for the site icon . Did we lose our icon at some time?

Not sure exactly which icon you mean. Mind providing a screenshot?

Oh goody, I thought it was just me seeing square roots. I study maths and economics and Finals start Monday so I've been cramming since yesterday. all I'm seeing is symbols everywhere. At least it isn't as bad as the tetris dreams I had a few weeks ago.

I think when Open Source updated us to vBulletin 4.2.0 PL3, our site icon that displays as the site URL icon in the browser is the generic vBulletin icon. I think Claydoh remedied this for us the last time.

        Fixed.

Ah, the favicon. Yeah, I should have guessed that's what you meant. My brain is fried from this event in DC, can't wait to get home. Then do it all over again in Orlando next week!

It's still not quite right for me in Firefox 17.0.1, (from the Blue-Shell PPA). The correct favicon shows on the tab that the site is open in, but if I create a new bookmark for KFN the bookmark entry has the generic vBulletin icon beside it.

I've cleared Firefox's cache and tried a CTRL+F5 force reload, but it's made no difference.

(Edit) I've even used the Firefox addon "Bookmark Favicon Changer" to remove the favicon from Firefox, then when I reload KFN the icon beside the bookmark becomes the generic vBulletin one again.

Isn't this because Firefox doesn't show the favicon anymore in the url bar because of security reasons? There's an extension "Favicon Restorer" that brings the favicon back in the url bar.

Eh? How does an icon present a security risk? That's odd.

I have the same problem too. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Looks like it's fixed now, I just refreshed the new posts page and now my bookmark has the correct favicon beside it.

Mozilla says some sites use a padlock as favicon: https://msujaws.wordpress.com/2012/0...sktop-firefox/
Google Crome removed it too, but I don't know if that has the same reason.
Personally I think it's a bit overdone, so I use that extension to put them back.

Interesting. Thanks for the pointer, Goeroeboeroe. I hadn't noticed that before, now that I give it some thought.

Favicon back to normal here with Firefox with no actions on my part.

I kind of prefer the favicon in the tab bar, it makes recognizing tabs visually quicker and easier thus making navigating between tabs easier and quicker.

Same here. I have the familiar Kubuntu logo back as favicon as well.
