    Sort for 'No Answers' posts?

If this is the wrong section, then please feel free to move this.

Is there a way to find posts that have zero answers?

Some posts get no answers, but scroll off the front page fairly quickly. Out of sight.... Out of mind.

Perhaps even better would be a way to sort posts according to number of answers in an unsolved thread? Would something like this allow us to concentrate on the people that come here looking for answers, but don't get them?

    Thanks.

    Frank.

In the advanced search you can filter down "At least" or "At most" X number of replies.

linuxquestions.org has a filter for this, probably that specific mod. And periodically they announce a drive to answer unanswered threads, which is quite a good thing.

We'll still need some manual browsing to catch the threads which have replies (like "I have this problem too despite trying x, y, z" or "Please post your ~/.kde/share/config/toughproblemsrc") but no actual answers. ... In fact, I'd sometimes like a way to flag a thread that I've tried to help in but run out of ideas on - a "hey everyone, extra help needed in this thread" button ...
I'd rather be locked out than locked in.

Aside: we (I'm looking at you james147) missed a chance to leave this thread with no answers ...

            That works!

            Claydoh:

The mod is what I had originally asked for, but the filter suggested above I think has advantages in that it helps manually find the threads with "I have that problem too" messages but no solution. I'll probably just try using the filter for a while.

Is there some way we can bring this solution to the attention of the community here as a whole?

            Thanks.

As well as the number of replies filter, you can also select to exclude the tag [SOLVED] ... although it's a bit fiddly: you have to make sure "(any prefix)" isn't selected.

The trick will be to find something that is really simple that the active, contributing members here can easily use, and then encourage them to do so.

So is it possible to reduce that to a URL string?

I am guessing so but being on the phone makes it less fun to find out lol

Yes, this does work. I've found it better to use "At Most 2" as this may find a lot of 'me too' threads where no real answer was given.

Now, how about automating this for the membership?

still away from my laptop (between work and a seemingly fried drive), but I think if you do a search using some parameters, you should in theory be able to bookmark the resulting page.

Don't believe this is possible. The URL doesn't change past clicking on the Search Single Content Type tab.
