Pleaase consider this matter as "Solved," and no longer active. It is not a big deal in itself and is certainly not worth stirring the pot over. Nor is it worth getting upset over in a sinful way, nothing is worth that.

ardvark, I don't think you said anything mean-spirited or disrespectful at all. You just voiced your opinion. I certainly didn't see it as upsetting or anything like that.

How can an Aardvark ever offend anybody...I mean....really....Aardvarks are one of the very first things I teach about when I'm discussing DNA....the DNA is what makes and Aardvark different from a Gekko.

Just wanted to chime in and say, yes at this point there is a single Google banner ad and we are using skimlinks in posts. Both are only shown to guests and users who are not logged in. I figured this is the best way to not trouble our members for money, but at the same time support the funding necessary to host the forum. To be completely open about the finances, skimlinks has so far produced $0 in revenue, but I would like to give it a month or two. If it continues to produce nothing, then I am more than happy to disable them (I have a feeling they work best on shopping sites - not linux forums ). As for the donation button, I think we are good for right now, but I can always re-enable it if the ads cease to produce sufficient funding. Thank you for everyone's support!!

OS, why don't you make the PayPal donate button magically appear and disappear depending on KFN's need for funds. When we see it, we'll know it's time to donate again, and when it's gone, we'll know you're good for the time being.
