    I set it to 50,000. How's that?

That problem seems to be fixed. Now I just need to correct for the new BBcode.

      Thanks, GG

I can't see any means to mark this thread "[SOLVED]". Other forums have such an option in the Thread Tools menu.

        EDIT
Had to click to edit the OP, and then click Go Advanced to manually edit the title. Still would be nice to have an option in Thread Tools.

The old forum was (re-)set (by Open Source) at 100,000 characters. Hope that doesn't cause issues here, now. I can't recall what my GRUB 2 was, but it is big. At some point, I need to get in there, check things, edit to improve it.

The message size is an easy change. If 50,000 turns out not to be enough for a tutorial it will get jumped to 100,000, if no one knows of any issues with that VB setting being that high.

I can't think of any reason it would be a problem, but it would be nice to have some indication of how many characters remain when composing (in WYSIWYG mode) or when submitting (other modes). If there is a limit, it is nice to know in advance before my post is rejected.

I'm not suggesting 100 kilo-characters won't be enough, only that the hard limit be made known as a convenience to (myself and other) verbose writers.

I bumped the message size to 100K to avoid any problems you might have posting a tutorial. Compose away!
(My assumption is that bumping it to 100K/msg won't waste space because message saving is sparse.)

And now I notice that change only affected post #1 inside this thread. Outside this thread, the title is unchanged. At this point, I see no way at all to mark threads [SOLVED].
