I like it. Very easy to use on my Atrix.

            Hello Everbody, I'm back!

I was able to re-"register" yesterday and have already posted something (about KDE 4.8 being out).

It <i>does</i> look nice here. It is mush closer to the Ubuntu Forums design then before. Plus, I can finally log in right t owhere I was when I logged in, as opposed to right to the home page. Cool!

I finally sent an e-mail to OS because I couldn't get in no matter what I did. I tried the 'reset password' thingy but that failed, and I tried registering as a new user [so I could post somewhere that I couldn't get in as me], but that failed, too. Next thing I know, OS has e-mailed me a new password and I'm happily back on KFN!

In case anyone else was wondering, the BBcode reference is here. had need of it yesterday, because the codes are a little different from the old forums.

I think the search index needs to be pitched and rebuilt. Steve Riley started a muon thread that has muon in the title and I can't find it - I'm certain that word's in the title and neither a basic search nor an advanced search will find the thread.

Other than that I think things look great. There are some niggling little issues like BB tags in signatures not migrating properly but those were easy to fix.

edit: The thread I was searching for is at

                      http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...estions-thread

and I tried a case sensitive search, a plain old search, searching thread titles only and searching by username. I just posted to the thread, tried searching again and it still doesn't show up.

Also, if you're interested in httpd and mysqld performance vBulletin has a script you can run against your server and upload the results in a forum on vbulletin.com where they'll pick apart your configuration and recommend optimizations for httpd.conf and my.cnf

                        Forum is here -

                        https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/foru...-Configuration

and the sticky at the top of the forum contains the script and instructions on uploading it and submitting an optimization request. They do this for free and the couple times I've done it it took a day or two for a response but Eva the optimization guru is pretty smart

                        Hope this helps -

If you open Settings at the top of the page, then select General Settings, then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options, you can change your message editor to one that gives you a menu bar of the common settings or one that even gives you a WYSIWYG editor. I have bit tried that one yet, I selected the Standard Editor.

Index dumped and being rebuilt now... Pardon any sluggishness on the server if anyone notices. I set the rebuild rate quite low so as not to hinder server performance.

I personally am not sold on the blog and cms features we have, but that is my personal preference.

We may need to watch how much we allow for graphics and video additions to see how the server can handle a load, but it seems fine so far. We'll see what happens for 12.04

As to themes, there is an updated Ubuntu theme borrowed from ubuntuforums. They cannot use it yet because the Single Sign-On they use is broken for it. We don't use it, so it is a good starting place. I have added the style.xml, but not the whole theme itself (graphics and icons). It (the colors and the header size) needs some tweaking as is, but it would be awesome if we could emulate the blue theme that http://wiki.kubuntu.org uses.
