I replied to your other thread (posted in the wrong place ). Let's wait for Open Source to get back from his trip (with the army... ). He's currently out of town.

Yet not a topic for Edgy? We are almost two months far from your last answer...

I don't hink Edgy is ready enough for us to have a separate topic just yet, There aren't enough differences from Dapper at the moment imnsho. But that wilol change soon enough

          Re: Heading for edgy

I jumped online today and just wanted to ask what you had in mind. Do you think we are ready to merge the hoary and breezy forums into one called 'older versions', or something along those lines? Then we could add a new forum for edgy eft called 'upcoming releases' or something like that. Let me know what you think.

          Thanks,

@Open Source: I think that would be good, "previous releases" and "development version" sections probably.

Ok all done...I think. When Edgy comes out, I will merge 'Dapper forum' with 'Previous forum' and change the name of the Dapper forum to the then current future release of Kubuntu. Make sense? Good. Thanks for the help and ideas.

                      Re: Heading for edgy

@Open Source: One problem with that. Dapper is, unlike the other releases, setup for long term support (5 years?). And even when Edgy comes out, Dapper is supposed to be the more stable of the two. Meaning that there might still be more people who will stick to Dapper for a long time, even after Edgy or Edgy+1 comes out.

My suggestion: Dapper should be in a place of it's own, with a title like "Long Term Support". So when Edgy comes out, Edgy will become "Current Release", Edgy+1 will be Development, Breezy (and Hoary?) will be Previous. A total of four sections (LTS, Current, Development, Previous).

Yeah thats what I thought might be the case. At any rate we can just play it by ear. It's more of a small detail anyways. Thanks for the info though.
