    Forum Problem?

    Problem getting in to
    "http://kubuntuforums.net"

Just noticed there weren't many posts overnight, like there usually are.

I had trouble getting in last night, but figured out a workaround.
    Going to
    http://kubuntuforums.net
gave me a blank page with "Done" at the bottom.
However, I could get in to
    http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php
When signing in (name & PW), it would take me back to the blank page with "Done" at the bottom. Then clicking on the back arrow took me back to the log-in page, at which point I clicked on Forum, and that got me into the forums logged in OK.
=> You have to side-step (avoid) ending up on http://kubuntuforums.net (otherwise, you'll be locked up on a blank "Done" page).
    You have stay in http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php.

    The problem persists this morning.

I had that problem last night and this morning, but did the same as you Qqmike.
Once in everything is working. All other sites such as www.kubuntu.org are working OK.

I saw that problem yesterday evening once, but it seems to be OK today.

Yep, I saw it again. I'd forgotten that I have it bookmarked as http://www.kubuntuforums.net/index.php which doesn't throw the error page.

                Re: Forum Problem?

I kept getting th blank white page last night. I always use http://kubuntuforums.net because it's remembered by my location bar.

I asked in #kubuntu-offtopic about kubuntuforums.net and the only reply I got was from a guy who said, "Huh? I didn't know there were any forums for Kubuntu."

So this morning I went to ubuntuforums.org, and ran into a post from aged hippy which linked to a thread inside our forum. That link worked, and a click on the unread threads link brought me to this thread.

I'm so glad everyone is here

I was having the same problem as everyone else last night... but this morning, I followed my link saved in Firefox's bookmark bar (http://www.kubuntuforums.net/) and it dumped me directly to the forums. I wonder if it makes any difference I leave myself logged in all the time?

Yup... the proverbial Bad Penny - turns up everywhere. 8)

Incidentally, http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/ immediately re-directs me to http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/ - so it seems to have been cured.

Probably just a Microsoft hacker, disappointed at just how popular Kubuntu is.

I'd be more inclined to first suspect a good old fashioned server failure. Sadly, I would not be surprised at all to learn that you are correct.

                        So i'm paranoid.

The advantage of being paranoid is that i'm never truly alone.... there is always someone thinking about me.

                          Re: Forum Problem?

Well, I am beginning to strongly suspect that this is caused by the fact that I have two pieces of software running an integrated ship here. The main page is MKPortal, where as the forums are SMF embedded in the MKPortal. We may just want to go back to SMF alone with no "Index" page again...

Has anyone else noticed how long the pages seem to be loading for? Or is it just me...?
