    Additional search options?

    OS -

Is it possible to add to the search options? If I want to search on topics where solved is part of the subject, I can do so by checking the Search in topic subjects only. But if I want to search on topics with solved in the subject line and key words in the body of the post, I can't. It would be nice if it was possible to have a search capability much like the filtering tool works in KMail:

Doesn't look like SMF has anything capable like that from a quick look at the mods available on their site.

      Re: Additional search options?

I usually search forums with Google. I've found it faster, and better results. To force Google to search a specific site, in domain:site in the search string. For example if I wanted to search for "wireless connection problem" I would enter:

      wireless connection problem site:kubuntuforums.net

as my search terms in Google. Try it, you'll like it.

This site will let you do a Google search restricted to Ubuntu sites.

Still not ideal. As we have it now, searches in KFN are a 'grab bag' affair. We have only two choices: Search within the topic or search within the entire post. Would be nice to be able to combine the two.
