Hi I just got a Dell XPS and am planning on running Kubuntu on it. I have tried the 7.10 Ubuntu and Kubuntu live CD's so far and the 8.04 Ubuntu live cd. Unfortunatly i am having driver problems with the 256meg nvidia card.
There are a lot of little problems and some fixes and think a dell section may help with these.
Also of note is I have the 1280x800 15.5" wide wide screen and Kubuntu is a better desktop on it by far!
