Volume Control

Hi,
I have not been able to find any way to adjust the volume except doing a ctrl-alt-f1 and typing in alsamixer. Is there a way to do this from the gui? When I try it from a normal terminal window the control keys are in use by some other shortcuts and don't work.

The default KDE mixer is the KMix: http://userbase.kde.org/KMix.

There is an alternative with the pulseaudio; Veromix: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=116676. The Veromix is available from the official Ubuntu repositories ( http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?ke...ll&section=all ) for the Kubuntu 11.10 and later.

The Veromix is a plasma widget. Ubuntu package name is plasma-widget-veromix. Install it with the package manager and add with the plasma explorer: http://userbase.kde.org/Plasma and http://userbase.kde.org/Plasma#Widgets .
