Re: What's better? Kubuntu vs. Windows xp
Development: Kubuntu! OR any Linux OS. Linux is constantly changing even if it is slow at times. Windows doesn't seem to change much at all although when it does, it is often major but then the XP to Vista 'change' will probably be the most revolutionary for quite a while. But, I think when you consider that Linux is often mostly volunteers with a few distros having some substantial corporate backing, it still is quite impressive regarding development. Or do I say something inaccurate here?
Features: I think Linux wins here, too. The problem is, when you look at the overall picture, Windows can win here with the support. When money and financial investment is involved, it's easier for Windows to do well since many write software for Windows and have people PAID to create the software. But, Linux also has good features and when you consider the problems that Windows has even though it has a lot of investors and people creating the OS/software for it, I think Linux does well considering.
As for Kubuntu, yeah, this all applies and I don't see a substantial improvement in Windows 7 or at least, I'm not sure it will be enough so that is a good opportunity for the Linux operating systems including Kubuntu. IMHO but I could be wrong.
My two cents (that went on for probably too long which probably will equal twenty cents now).
